Greetings!

Joe Danna, CNMT (Certified Neuromuscular Therapist)

A healing space is a place where knowledge is power. People who are in pain or experiencing too much stress often stay that way due to lack of education for their own wellness. Those around them may not understand what they are going through physiologically either and sadly, in some cases don’t want to hear about it. This can lead the sufferer to the point of dissociating from their own pain, living with dysfunction, and progressing to chronic states. Anyone in this kind of situation not only needs validation, but also to be given hope and information for empowerment toward their own betterment. Does this sound familiar? If the answer is yes, then step inside and take a look around. The information you’ll find here is geared to assist and educate those who are experiencing discomfort caused by acute, sub-acute, or chronic muscular conditions and/or for those who feel a need for deep relaxation. I know from personal experience that forming healthy neuromuscular patterns can reduce and often eliminate pain, and that the relaxation response activated through working with the parasympathetic nervous system has benefits not to be missed. Enjoy!

Mission Statement

I adhere to the highest goals for any therapeutic relationship, which is to validate and empower my clients, increase range-of-motion, diminish pain, promote relaxation, reduce stress and tension, educate, and if necessary refer the client to other health care professionals.

History

Joe has facilitated many types of bodywork since 1991. A Gloucester native who traveled out west where he lived for many years, Joe is a graduate of The School of Healing Arts in Pacific Beach, Ca., Twin Lakes College of Healing Arts, Santa Cruz, Ca., NCC Massage Therapy Program in Nashua, Neuromuscular Certification/Advanced Myofascial training at The Muscular Wellness Institute, Belmont, NH, and continues to further his education. He has had two years experience with instructing massage therapy programs and has donated his work to The Boston Marathon and other similar type events.

Deep Tissue Massage

I offer deep tissue massage at my offices in Nashua, NH and Amherst, NH. These applications are not about plowing through tissue with unnecessary force and pain. The work assesses tensility carefully so as to allow the natural release of the client's tissue, which governs the session for the best results.

“Physical and mental stress reflecting in the body drives us to look for ways to regenerate. These therapies have proven to be effective at retaining structural balance, reducing pain, inducing relaxation, and promoting a sense of well-being.” Joe Danna
